The Dutch magazine Twinkle published an article in August about the drop hit-rate in the Netherlands.
Research showed them that 14% of the drops to online consumers is not executed on the right day. However very recently conducted research of DeliveryMatch and BUAS (in NL, UK, FR, DE) shows that the drop hit-rate is effectively even lower. Only in 78% of the drop attempts the online consumer is @Home. And if you would not take the ‘working at home’ situation because of COVID 19 into account it would only be 65%. The performance in the UK, Germany and France is even worse. Currently our CEO (Roland Slegers-Leijsten) is writing a book based on this scientific research that will be published end of this year (title: e-Commerce Logistics in Europe: Integrate or Stagnate).
